Hi, I'm Joey
Born in Mississauga, I grew up fascinated by nostalgia. I remember digging through old VHS tapes of my family's life before me - watching their first year arriving in Canada in the 90s, seeing them experience snow for the first time, riding the TTC, and building a life here. I think that's where a lot of this started for me. Those tapes taught me how meaningful ordinary moments become over time.
My approach
I approach weddings with a calm and observant mindset. I know being photographed can feel vulnerable, so my goal isn't to make your day feel overly posed.
I'll step in with guidance when needed, but I'm most in love with the moments that unfold naturally. I love to capture the nervous energy before the ceremony, the chaos of a moving timeline, and the laughter that catches people off guard.
I want you to feel comfortable enough to be present in your day while trusting me to look out for the details around you.
A large part of my process happens before the day itself. I spend time planning intentionally, scouting locations, and understanding timelines so things can be smooth and true to you. I hope to feel less like a heavy presence and more of a natural extension of the people you chose to surround yourself with that day.
What inspires me
A lot of my work is inspired by nostalgia and the way memories change over time. I'm drawn to films, old home videos, movement, and stories that feel honest - the kind that reveal something different every time you return to them.
I love images that feel lived in rather than perfect. Sometimes that means movement and softness. Sometimes it's a fleeting expression you forgot you ever had. For me, the photos people hold onto most closely years later are the ones that felt most real in the first place.
